I'm Elizabeth Chapman, an interdisciplinary maker with experience in metalsmithing, sewing, and illustration. I live and work in Baltimore, Maryland, and my creative endeavors include costuming, illustration, and wearable sculpture. At present, I'm working as an intern in the costume shop at Centerstage in Baltimore, MD. There, I'm expanding my understanding of theater and the ways in which costumes perform on stage. In May 2012, I exhibited "Dream Logic," an exploration of the mind's sleeping fantasies, at Load of Fun Gallery in Baltimore City. A series of mixed-media, wearable sculptures, "Dream Logic" references themes of flight, fantasy, and the irrational desires that surface in dreams. As 2013 moves along, I will continue to experiment as a maker and explore the ways in which typically isolated disciplines and media can intersect.
